Invisalign in Delray Beach

Clear aligner treatment overseen by a periodontist. Your gum and bone health is monitored throughout — something most Invisalign providers don't offer as part of the same treatment plan.

Straighter teeth.
Healthier gums. Both at once.

Invisalign moves teeth using a series of custom clear aligners — no metal brackets, no wires, no adjustments that require appointments every few weeks. You wear each set for about two weeks, then advance to the next. Most adults find the process straightforward and far less intrusive than traditional braces.

What's different at Ressler Dental: Dr. Ressler is a periodontist. That means throughout your Invisalign treatment, he's also monitoring the gum tissue and bone response as your teeth move. Orthodontic movement creates forces on the supporting structures of your teeth. In patients with any history of gum disease — even mild, previously treated disease — that monitoring matters.

Most Invisalign providers don't offer this as part of the treatment plan. At Ressler Dental, it's standard.

Orthodontic movement
and periodontal health are connected.

When teeth move, the bone and gum tissue around them respond. In most healthy adults this is entirely manageable. But adults — unlike adolescents — often have some degree of gum recession, bone loss, or history of periodontal treatment that changes the equation.

"Adults who want straighter teeth frequently have some history of gum issues. I can address both — not as two separate problems, but as one treatment plan where movement and tissue health are managed together."

A general dentist or orthodontist providing Invisalign typically refers periodontal issues out. Dr. Ressler handles both in the same practice. If gum tissue needs attention before or during treatment, it's managed here — not across two providers, two sets of records, and two treatment plans that don't always speak to each other.

For adults who were told they're "not a candidate" for Invisalign due to gum issues, the consultation with Dr. Ressler is often more useful than they expected.

Invisalign works for
most adults. The consultation confirms it.

Invisalign treats a wide range of alignment issues in adults — from mild crowding to more complex cases. The primary prerequisite is gum and bone health sufficient to support tooth movement. At Ressler Dental, that evaluation happens at the same consultation as the Invisalign assessment.

Good candidates
  • Mild to moderate crowding or spacing
  • Overbite, underbite, or crossbite (most cases)
  • Healthy gums or managed periodontal history
  • Motivated adult who will wear aligners as directed
  • No active gum disease
Factors to discuss
  • Active gum disease — treated first
  • Significant bone loss — evaluated case by case
  • Severe skeletal discrepancies — may need alternatives
  • Heavily restored teeth — plan adjustments needed

Things patients ask
before the consultation.

How long does Invisalign treatment take? +
Most adult cases take 12–18 months. Mild cases can complete in 6–9 months. More complex cases may take longer. Dr. Ressler will give you a realistic treatment timeline at the consultation based on the specific movements required — not an estimate designed to make you say yes faster.
How many hours per day do I need to wear the aligners? +
22 hours per day is the standard recommendation. You remove them to eat and drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. The compliance requirement is real — patients who wear aligners less than directed extend their treatment significantly.
I had gum disease in the past. Can I still do Invisalign? +
Often yes, if the disease is controlled. The key word is "controlled" — active periodontal disease needs to be treated before orthodontic movement begins. Because Dr. Ressler treats both, this can happen in sequence as part of a single treatment plan rather than being referred out and coordinated across practices.
Does insurance cover Invisalign? +
Many dental plans with orthodontic benefits cover Invisalign the same way they cover traditional braces — up to a lifetime orthodontic maximum, typically $1,000–$2,500. We verify your benefits before the consultation and give you a written cost estimate including the out-of-pocket portion.
What happens after treatment ends? +
Retainers. Teeth will shift back without retention — this is true of every orthodontic treatment. We provide retainers and clear instructions on the retention protocol at the end of treatment. Most patients wear retainers nightly long-term. This is standard and not optional if you want the result to hold.
